Some of My Testimony
November 2019 Carl Stubbs |
I have always believed that the Church was true and have known
that all of us are not exempt from the temptations of the world. I believe that
we are all attempting to do our very best with the abilities that we have been
given.
As I went on my mission, I was much taken aback by
missionaries that wanted to go home and didn’t want to stay on their mission. I
know now that many of them were quite homesick. I often wonder why I did not
feel that feeling of homesickness. I wanted to stay on my mission and had been
asked to stay for another three months, but my father said I needed to come
home. My family met me in the field, and we all came home together.
One event that took place after my marriage was in the
hospital. I had broken my back and during the surgery, I developed clots that
went to my lungs and jeopardized my life. We had been assigned home teachers but had never actually met them. They were not the best at visits, but one of
them came to the hospital and gave me a blessing and told me that I would never
lack for the necessities of life for myself or for my children. I have had
dreams of things that were significant in my life and the lives of my family
members. I am truly grateful to God for my family and those around me. I pray
for and thank God for his love for me and my family.
